While a workout is running, TabataRep reads frames from your camera and runs pose detection entirely on your device, using Google ML Kit. What it keeps from each frame is a set of body-joint coordinates — numbers describing where your shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and ankles are. The image itself is never written to storage and never transmitted.
Those coordinates stay on your phone, in the app's private storage, so your session report and replay still work afterwards.
| Data | When | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Camera frames | During a workout | Processed on device, then discarded. Never uploaded. |
| Body-joint coordinates, rep counts, scores | During a workout | Stored on your device only, unless you create an account. |
| Display name, avatar, body weight | If you enter them | Your device. Synced only if you sign in. |
| Email address | Only if you create an account | Supabase (our authentication provider) to identify your account. |
| Subscription status | If you subscribe | Handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details. |
You can use every scoring feature of TabataRep without an account. If you choose to create one — by email link, Google, or Apple — we store your email address so your subscription and training history can follow you to a new device.
When you are signed in, the app uploads session summaries only: date, duration, exercise, rep count and score. Raw body-joint frames are never uploaded.
If you tap Share, TabataRep creates a summary card and, with your permission, saves it to your photo library. It only ever adds an image you asked for. It does not read, scan or upload your existing photos.
TabataRep is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and note it in the app's release notes.
